Questions

Questions patients ask

Do you take my insurance?

It depends on the plan type. We are in network with some PPO plans and out of network with others, and we file claims either way. We don't accept DHMO plans. The fees page has the details, and the office will check yours before your first visit.

What if I don't have insurance?

You pay for your visit, and you get a written estimate before treatment. You can ask for the estimate when you schedule. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

No. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP, and we say so here so you don't have to call to find out.

Will it hurt?

The area is numbed with local anesthetic. Most people feel pressure, not pain, and some soreness afterward. Tell us if you want a break and we stop.

How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?

Dr. Clemons decides from your mouth and your history. For an implant, we set a checkup schedule that depends on your gums.

What is a deep cleaning?

A cleaning below the gumline for gums that have pulled away from the teeth. If you need one before an implant, we explain why and write it into the estimate.

Do you see children?

We see adults. If your child needs a dentist, we can suggest where to look, and we don't place implants in children.

What counts as a dental emergency?

Trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling that is spreading to your eye or neck, is an emergency: call 911. For a broken tooth, bleeding or pain, call us at (309) 555-0101 and tell us what happened.

Do you offer sedation?

No. We use local anesthetic, which numbs the area while you stay awake. If you would want sedation, we can suggest where to look.

Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment, and for implants we give one at the scan visit, with each step and its fee.

Do you speak Spanish?

Our team speaks English. If you need an interpreter, tell us when you book and we will arrange one.

How do I cancel or change a visit?

Call or text us as early as you can. For implant surgery visits we ask for as much notice as possible, because the time is set aside for you.
